Yvonne L. Berghuis' Obituary
Yvonne Lucille Berghuis, age 83, passed away October 8, 2004. She was born Dec. 5, 1920, in Muskegon to Guy and Lucy (Raeth) Bates and had lived here most of her life. She had been a homemaker all her life, being an excellent cook, seamstress, and budget manager. In 1936, she married Lyman Dial, who died June 5, 1997, and in 1946 she married Charles Louis Berghuis, who preceded her in death on March 14, 1997. Mrs. Berghuis was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Bates, and Kenneth Knool; Four sisters, Ina Bates, Evelyn Sparbel, Bonita Jean Butler; and Bessie Englund; a son, James Lyman Dial, and 2 daughters, Joan Lucille Dial, and Anna Marie (Dixie) Chanston; and one grandson, James Lyman Larson. SURVIVORS include Four daughters, Laura (Larry) Britton of IL, Peggy Dial, of Lakewood Club, Stella Dial (David Snelling) of Muskegon and Charlene (Thomas) Williams, of Muskegon, one son, Charles Berghuis II, of Spring Lake, 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren. SERVICE will be 3:00 PM Tuesday at Sheridan Road Church of Christ (4521 S. Sheridan) with Mr. Robert Hodgman officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6-9 PM Monday at the Church with an hour prior on Tuesday. Arrangements by Sytsema Funeral Homes. Inc.
