Zachary Aaron Rasey's Obituary
Zachary Aaron Rasey, age 34, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023 surrounded by his loving family after experiencing a massive heart attack and fighting for over a week for his life. He was born January 26, 1989 in Grand Haven to Jack D. and Kari L. (Houseman) Rasey and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. On October 31, 2020, he married Samantha A. “Sami” Hovis in Muskegon. Zach was an avid Bigfoot Believer. He also loved gaming and played them all. Zach participated in the Scottville Clown Band and loved all kinds of music and movies. He coached T-ball and Softball for Oakridge Schools and enjoyed turkey and deer hunting. Survivors include his loving wife, Sami; 1 daughter, Arianna; his parents, Jack and Kari Rasey; his maternal grandmother, Marrianne Houseman; his paternal grandfather, Jack (Jane) Rasey; his uncle, Matt (Heidi) Houseman; and his aunt, Corrine Lifer, and many cousins. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joey Rasey and his cousin, Luke Geldaker. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 13, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Rev. Julie Winklepleck officiating. Visitation will take place 5-7 PM Sunday, November 12, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
