Zelma Louise Carter's Obituary
Zelma Louise Carter, age 90, passed into eternity on Thursday, July 20, 2023. She was born December 15, 1932 to Burtis and Rozella (Root) Morris in Lakeview, MI and was raised in the Muskegon area. She graduated in 1950 from Muskegon Heights High School. She was a member of the Fruitport Christian Reformed Church where she served in many capacities including Sunday School Teacher for 30 years. She married her high school sweetheart, George L. Carter and they spent 62 years together before he passed in 2013. Their oldest son, Robert George Carter also passed in 2017. She leaves behind their other two children; a daughter, Pamela Miller and a son, Christopher Carter; three grandchildren, Jillian Teufel, Anna Carter, and Mackenzie Pratt; and one great-granddaughter, Niah Pratt. She also leaves behind many friends and loved ones who shared in her life over the years. She worked for Fruitport Community Schools Administration Office as Business Manager, retiring in 1990. Her family was her heart. She loved being involved with people and events until her health made that impossible. She will surely be missed by all. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 24, 2023 at Fruitport Christian Reformed Church, 3520 Pontaluna Road, Fruitport, MI 40415, with Pastor John Huyser officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Fruitport Christian Reformed Church Memorial Fund.
