Zola F. LeMieux's Obituary
Mrs. Zola F. LeMieux, age 87, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 in Muskegon. She was born on April 23, 1929 in Mansfield, MO to Edgar and Fay (Blackburn) Hunt and came to Muskegon in 1944. Zola worked for J.C. Penny’s on Western Ave., Brunswick Corporation, and in the cafeteria at Mona Shores Middle School. Zola and her husband were both heavily involved with the VFW and Post 3195. On May 6, 1947, she married Harold “Bud” LeMieux and he preceded her in death on February 24, 1995. SURVIVORS include her son, Harold “Butch” (Carla) LeMieux, Jr. of Muskegon; four grandchildren, Tim (Liz) LeMieux, Steve Decker, Traci (Matt) Jones, and Joni Decker; nine great grandchildren; and brother Dean (Opal) Hunt of Springfield, MO. Zola was also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Decker; and half-brother, Gene Hunt. A special thank you to the staff at Agape Home Assisted Living, who took such loving care of Zola for 14 years. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11AM Friday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with Pastor Russell Damm officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 PM Thursday. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
