Dear Brozek Family: I grew up on Glade Street, the street over from Lemuel. My sister, Doris, was a friend and playmate of Joan. Consequently, our mothers became good friends and over the years kept in touch after everyone moved away from the "old" neighborhood. I remember a special visit in the 60's from Adeline and Harvey to our married student apartment when my husband was doing graduate work at The University of Iowa in Iowa City. They were dropping Richard, or was it Tommy, off for his Freshman year.
What I remember most about your mother was her love of books, her beautiful garden and her love of family. She was so very proud of you all!
Unfortunately, the last time I saw your mother was in 2010 when I was home for my 55th High School class reunion. My mother and I surprised her with a visit and a box of books!
Mom died in 2019 at age 103 and I am sure they are comparing family accomplishments!
This is the photo I took during that last visit.
