Mr. Albert Kroese's Obituary
Mr. Albert Kroese, 86, passed away early Sunday morning, August 23, 2015. Born March 6, 1929 in Hull, Iowa to Ivan and Alberta (Brummel) Kroese, he was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He married the former Eleanor Visser July 25, 1956 in Grand Rapids, and she died November 8, 2006. Together they operated Kroese Farm in Hull, Iowa for 44 years before moving to Muskegon in 1999. Al was a member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church in Muskegon, and a former member of First Christian Reformed Church in Hull, and was also a member of the American Legion in Hull, IA. His SURVIVORS include his children: Terry (Joyce) Kroese of Columbia, MO, Pamela Kroese of Jenison, and Julie (Craig ) DeMarr of Muskegon; five grandchildren: Joshua and Chelsey Kroese, Alex (Erika) Ribbens, Nicole (Michael) Pell, and Jessica Ribbens; two brothers: Gerald (Harriet) Kroese of Orange City, IA and Hilmore (Vonnie) Kroese all of Hull; two sisters: Johanna Ludema of Ann Arbor, and Belle (Ken) Draayer of Hull; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Eleanor, brother Irvin, brother-in-law Ken Ludema, and four-legged buddy, “Snickers”. Al will be remembered for his love of farming and sports. He was an enthusiastic supporter of Western Michigan Christian High School sports and coaches, and had played fast-pitch softball in his younger years. He also enjoyed visiting sick and shut-in friends, and reading. VISITATION for Mr. Kroese will be 5-7 P.M. Friday, August 28, 2015 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231-798-1100), and a CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE will begin 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Bethany Christian Reformed Church, 1105 Terrace St., with Rev. David Sieplinga officiating. Military Rites and Committal Service will be in Hope Cemetery, Hull, Iowa in September. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to West Michigan Christian Schools and Hope Haven in Rock Valley, IA, would be appreciated.
