Many years ago around 84 Alice painted a big 2 man saw for us. It still hangs in our kitchen and we treasure it. Many people have asked & we proudly tell them. Over the years I to have become a self tought artist. Sence I appreciate it so much more. As long as we live in this big old house it will be right there. There are not enough words to describe the incredible kindness and love Alice shared with me and my entire family over the years. There was never a time when hardship or sorrow that stuck in our family or home town that Rosemary and Alice didn’t arrive with a comforting word of prayer, a dish to pass or just an open heart to listen. Nunica was a great place to grow up and live because of the people who lived their and shared our lives, Nunica was Great because of Angels like Alice Marie Goll and Rosemary Stevenson.
Hearing the news of Alice’s passing today filled my heart with mixed emotions, while I feel selfish sorrow that I will not get to visiting with her this summer when I return home to see family and friends, I also feel a sense of celebration. You see a life filled with the joy of love, caring, and giving is a life that requires celebration, and in that respect Alice, Every time I think of you, your smile, your kindness and your unwavering love for your friends and neighbors I will return a smile In celebration of you. I also feel a special joy in my heart today knowing that you and Rosemary are together again and when my time comes I look forward to seeing both of you smiling aNd waving at me as you did for as long as I can remember.
