Alice Marie Goll's Obituary
Our loss became Heaven’s gain on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, when Alice Marie Goll, age 82, of Nunica passed away. She was born October 12, 1940, in Nunica to Frederick and Frances (Bates) Goll.
Alice graduated from Coopersville High School and Muskegon School of Business. She worked for more than thirty years for Michigan Bell Telephone Company in Grand Haven, having retired in 1990. Alice was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Coopersville, where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She volunteered her time and talent to the Special Riding Program of Muskegon County for more than twenty years. Alice also volunteered at Mercy Hospital as a concerned hearts club member after undergoing open heart surgery in 1988 to become Mercy’s first double heart valve recipient. She volunteered for many years assisting several senior citizens of the Nunica, Spring Lake, and Grand Haven areas. You won’t read it on the front page of the paper or see it on the news, but the world lost a special caring soul on this day.
After retiring from the telephone work, Alice pursued a lifelong desire to be an artist. Alice became a self-taught artist who sold many painted saws, saw blades, canvas, doing much custom work for many people through Michigan and beyond.
Alice was the youngest of seven children, two sisters who died in infancy and four brothers, Frank Victor Goll died in 1980, Frederick Hans Goll, Jr., Albert Lee Goll died in 1976 and Wesley Roy Goll also passed away, several nieces and nephews and many friends also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by special friend and companion, Rosemary Stevenson on January 3, 2017.
Alice is survived by her special friends “little sister” Charlene Williams, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
