I will miss spending time with grandma every time we come to Muskegon. Every conversation with grandma was like learning a lesson. She was one of the strongest, kindest, loving & amazing Christian woman that I've ever known! Her example of what we can all have if we stay faithful to God & our spouses should be something we all strive for! I will always have nothing but admiration & wonderful memories when I think of her<3 Thanks for being an awesome grandmother to me & great grandmother to our kids! Alice was such a wonderful lady and made our visits so enjoyable. Just a few weeks ago, I asked her when she would be 100. "In January," she said. I wondered aloud if there would be a big party for her, and she said, "I hope not and still wonder why God keeps me around so long." I smiled and reminded her that her days are in His hands and He will graciously take her home at just the right time. And now, she has entered into His glory and love which she was waiting for. What a lady! Her hands were never idle from knitting hats and scarves to doing word search, and playing computer games, and she loved to read! Alice, in her love for people, had given my life a direction which, without her, it would never have taken.

I have felt close to her for 60 years and no one else rivals her in my memory.

She has been a great little woman with a very fine spirit.

I will always cherish the time I spent with her and her family (on 246 W. Forest Ave.) and the several occasions we met in the years after on West Lake or in Florida.

Well, Grandma, Amy shares my favorite memories of spending summers with you on the lake. Memorial Day weekend was the best weekend of the year because the whole family was at your house putting the dock, raft, and boat in the water in preparation for summer. Labor Day wasn't fun taking everything back out, but the fish fry was the best! You even de-boned the fish for me when I got tired of doing it. You have been the best grandmother I could have ever asked for and will be deeply missed! I know you are in Heaven with Grandpa and your loved ones and are happy once again, but it still hurts to say good-bye. I love you! Jill

My most cherished memories of my great grandma come from driving her around town to run errands after she gave me her car. I was seventeen and always found it enjoyable. We would talk about anything and everything. Even though I offered many times, she would never let me come in to help her with her groceries. That's just how she was. Always independent. I loved her very much and will miss her dearly.

My most cherished childhood memories are the days spent with you at the cottage on West Lake. Putting the dock and raft in the water over Memorial Day and taking it back out on Labor Day. All those lazy summer days in between swimming, boating, and fishing were some of the best days ever. You always made sure there was tapioca pudding waiting for us In the green bowl! I am so thankful for all the games of cribbage we shared and all the secrets you taught me. I know you are playing cribbage with Aunt Margie, send her my love!
