Alice N. Erickson's Obituary
Alice N. Erickson, age 92, of Grand Haven, MI, (formerly of Voyager Village, WI) passed away Thursday, November 23, 2006. She was born November 1, 1914, to Peter G. and Edna (Saalsaa) Rude in Dodgeville, WI. Alice graduated from Colfax High School and earned her nursing degree at Luther School of Nursing. She married Kenneth G. Erickson on May 27, 1942, in Madison, WI, and he preceded her in death on September 25, 2000. Alice moved to our area in 1993 from Spooner, WI, and had been employed as a RN in various capacities in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Alice loved serving her Lord, being with people, music, nature, photography, nutrition, reading, continually learning, sewing, playing bridge and golf in her younger years, and especially being with her family. Alice is survived by her son, Ronald D. (Mary) Erickson of Spring Lake; 3 grandchildren: Kristen (Stephen) Story, Jennifer and John Erickson; and 1 great-grandchild, Alayna Story. Also surviving are her brothers, Ole (Edna) Rude of Mesa, AZ, and David (Carol) Rude of Green Valley, AZ; and sisters Carol Lottes of Poynette, WI, R. Alida Christenson of Oroville, CA, Mary (Joe) Bowen of Melbourne, FL, and Barbara Gilbert of Mesa, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Arthur and Peter Rude, and sister Kay Rude. The service for Alice will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2006, at Spring Lake Wesleyan Church with Rev. Peter Yoshonis officiating. Friends may meet the family 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2006 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Interment will be in Lakeshore Cemetery.
