Margaret Sorenson
Today is August 27, 2020, exactly 11 years since my sister, Allison Sorenson, died, following a brave battle with cancer. I think if Allison could read these "tributes" left in her memory, she would be both surprised and somewhat amused, since most of these people were complete strangers to her during her life. Allison had a very difficult life, beginning in childhood when she was betrayed by the husband of a FORMER family member, who took advantage of Allison and hurt her and caused her to have nervous breakdowns and spend most of her life being labeled as CRAZY and MENTALLY ILL. She spent years in and out of hospitals and group homes because of the trauma she suffered at the hands of a vile person who was protected by his wife and escaped the punishment he deserved. It was many years before Allison could speak openly about this, and I KNOW she was GLAD to hear that this THING had been killed in a horrific accident some years ago -- it gave her a measure of satisfaction, but she was still angry that he got away with his crime against her.
Allison NEVER forgave him, even though she was urged to by certain people who felt it was necessary so his soul could rest in Heaven. If there actually IS a Heaven, then surely Allison is there, because all her faults and troubles over the years were not of her own making. Allison was one of the SMARTEST of the nine children in our family, and there was a LOT more to her life than going shopping, reading books and going out to eat. ALL of us treated her badly in different ways, and I for one had the decency to ask her to forgive me one of the last times I saw her, and she told me that she did.
Sometimes I see Allison in my dreams, and she always seems happy, clean and more at peace then she ever was in life. She was more of a TRUE Christian than the FORMER family member and others who spout Bible verses and protect the memory of a DESPICABLE sinner who is surely roasting in Hell for all Eterniity for what he did to an innocent child.
Rwest peacefully, Allison, for YOU deserve it more than anyone...your sister, Peggy
