My uncle Aloysius lived a long and full life. Polio robbed him of many activities as a youth but it never was an impediment to his enjoying life as much as he could. He never shied away from doing things that were difficult, he just did the best he could (and proved many naysayers very wrong). During childhood and as an adult he had to endure many obstacles, and I think this helped strengthen his determination and drive. And it never deprived him of his sense of humor and wry wit. I know from firsthand observation the person he was. The term I would use to describe his life is FAITH. He was faithful to his faith (God) and that faith showed in his everyday life. I lost my father at an early age. My mom depended on uncle Al after my father's death, and he was always there. Mom made sure he was never alone on holidays or special events, and we shared many memorable experiences with him. He was instrumental in introducing me to hunting, playing golf & music (instrumentals). As a father figure we shared many conversations during my adolescent years; and later after my service. His sage advice had a great influence on my life. He was not flashy, nor was he pretentious. He was forthright and honest: you knew where you stood with him. He was generous not only with his time, but also with his finances. If there was a need, he would cheerfully contribute and did not look for accolades. He was duty first and foremost:always faithful. And I know that God welcomed him into His presence with, "welcome to the feast that I have prepared for you, my GOOD and FAITHFUL SERVANT!" We love you uncle Aloysius. We thank God for you and for your FAITHFUL life, and the many blessings your life brought and enriched ours. George Jonaitis
Millie,
As we sat and watched Al Tuesday night and Wednesday morning leaving his earthly life and going to his Father. I saw the love you two shared. The dedication you had for each other and God. It made me think that we were losing a great man. One that was loved and treasured by anyone that had the great pleasure to meet him. A man that would leave but a footprint on this earth that everyone should follow.
