Mrs. Alta (Wolf) Patterson's Obituary
Mrs. Alta June Patterson, age 92, passed away Thursday morning, February 2, 2017. Alta was born June 25, 1924 in Golden Township to Floyd and Nettie (Morley) Wolf. She married Marvin Patterson Sr. on June 19, 1946 in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on October 16, 1991. She had been a longtime member of First Wesleyan Church. She was employed as a bookkeeper at M&I Supply for 25 years prior to her retirement in 1986. Alta then continued to work part time for several years at Eastwood Village. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, and needlework. Alta loved her family, and raising her children and grandchildren. Alta is survived by her children, Marvin (Gayle) Patterson Jr. of Spring Lake, Patricia Dawes of Jalisco, Mexico, Cheryl Poe of Muskegon, and Thomas Patterson of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeanetta Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Alta was also preceded in death by her brother, Floyd “Bud” Wolf; sisters, Mildred Vanderwest, Elnora Woodyard, Isabell Raczok, Doris Schopf, Rosella Noble, and Elaine Wolf; and sons-in-law, Richard Dawes and Michel Poe. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM Saturday, February 11, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Rev. Craig Cramblet officiating. VISITATION will be Friday evening, February 10, 2017, from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Harbor Hospice Foundation.
