Alvin Leroy Friend's Obituary
Mr. Alvin L. Friend, age 60, passed away Friday evening, February 4, 2005 at a local hospital, following as short illness. Al was born October 14, 1944 to William L. and Mary (Umlor) Friend in Muskegon, Mi. He resided in Grant for the last 33 years. Al had been employed at Kaydon Corporation for 37 years, retiring in 2003. He married the former Rosalie Parrish in Muskegon on April 15, 1967, and she survives him He was a veteran, having served his Country in the U.S. Navy. Al loved his grandchildren and steelhead fishing. SURVIVORS include his wife; 2 children, Michael (Bobbi) Friend of Whitehall and Todd (Anita) Friend of Grant; 5 grandchildren, Ryan, Travis, Jessica, Ashley, and Tyler; his mother, Mary Friend; sister, Mary Jane Harris of Muskegon; brother, William (Mary Ruth) Friend of Muskegon; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chuck (Linda) Parrish of Twin Lake; and also by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, He was preceded in death by his father, William in April of 2004 and also by a sister, Shirley Friend.
