Amanda J. Locke's Obituary
Amanda J. Locke, age 44, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025, at home. She was born on November 8th, 1980, in Muskegon, MI, to Michael and Luanne (Updyke) King. Amanda was a lifelong resident of Muskegon and a proud graduate of Orchard View High School, class of 1998. She went on to further her education at Muskegon Community College and Central Michigan University, earning her bachelor's degree in nursing. A compassionate and dedicated nurse, Amanda spent 14 years helping others at Kent County Sheriff’s Department, Hillcrest Nursing Home, SKLD and various other facilities, where she worked as a registered nurse. Her caring nature touched the lives of everyone she met. Amanda had a passion for reading, listening to music, baking, traveling, and embracing new adventures. Above all, she was deeply devoted to her family and loved ones. She will be remembered as a loving mother, an amazing daughter, and a wonderful sister. Amanda’s warmth and kindness will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her three children, Kira Conant, Bryce Locke, and Sawyer Sikkenga; parents, Michael and Luanne King; brother, Michael King; nieces, Evann and Jamisan King; and many dear friends and family. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 5-7:00 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with a tribute from the Muskegon Area Nurse Honor Guard starting at 5:15 PM. Memorial Contributions in Amanda’s honor can be directed to Go Fund Me.
