Amy Hill's Obituary
Amy Hill, age 98, of Grand Haven passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Rose Arbor Hospice Facility. She was born March 11, 1923 in Munising, Michigan to Henry, and Leona (Goudreau) Bolles, and she married Oliver John Hill on April 25, 1942, in Grand Haven. He preceded her in death on December 16, 2009.
Amy graduated from Grand Haven High School and worked a variety of different jobs. Amy was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Grand Haven and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary - Sgt. Alvin Jonker Post 2326 for many years. She loved to cook, spend time with her sisters, crafting, shopping, going out to eat, and traveling the United States. Family was most important to Amy, always celebrating birthdays and important life events.
She is lovingly remembered by two daughters, Karen Husted and Sally (Robert) Mecker; son, David (Kathy) Hill; four grandchildren: Sandra (Grant) Hebert, Scott (Jill) Husted, Shawn (Sherrie) Yost and Stephanie Hill; six great-grandchildren: Adrian (Stephanie) Phillips, Samantha Yost, Skyler Yost, Damien Hill, Nick McKay and Tristen McKay; one great-great-grandchild, Cayden; her sister-in-law, Peggy Bolles; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by great-granddaughter, Brittany Husted; four sisters: Edna McCarthy, Lois Schiel, Audrey Katt and Sally Green; and her brother, George Bolles.
The funeral for Amy will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at the Grand Haven Seventh-Day Adventist Church with Pastor Ted Toms officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the funeral at church. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Grand Haven Seventh-Day Adventist Church Community Center.
