Mr. Andrew 'Andy' Garza's Obituary
Mr. Andrew “Andy” William Garza, age 60, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016, at his home surrounded by family. Andy was born February 5, 1956 to Exiquio and Agnes (Chingman) Garza in Muskegon. On August 18, 1978 he married Carlotta Moore. Andy was a proud member of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians. He was employed as a supervisor and woodworker by Woodedge for 5 years and was a dock worker prior to that. He loved the casino, fishing and car rides. Along with Carlotta, his wife of 37 years, he is SURVIVED by his daughters, Randin (Eddie) Jeffries of Muskegon and Mandy (Robert Johnson) Garza of Holland; his grandchildren, Sha’kori (Shane Mergener) Garza, Sean’trel (Lauren Pierce) Garza, Rashanti Garza, Tamara Garza, Immanuel Garza and Xavier Garza; great-granddaughters, Eleanna Grossenbacher and Paislie Pierce; brothers, Esiquio ‘Rusty’ (Barb) Garza and Philo (Mary) Garza; sister-in-law, Velma (Tim) Youngs; and many nieces and nephews. Andy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Mikey and Fred; and sister, Josie. A CELEBRATION OF ANDY’S LIFE will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Pamona Park in Fruitport with Deb Gutowski officiating. Burial will be in Elbridge Indian Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Flowers may be sent to the family’s home.
