Angelo Zambetis' Obituary
Angelo Thomas Zambetis, age 86, passed away peacefully Friday, April 7, 2006, at Poppen Hospice Residence in Muskegon. He was born on February 22, 1920 to Stamatios and Patra (Pantazis) Zambetis in Samos, Greece. Angelo graduated from Detroit Western High School. In 1946 he married Stephanie H. Kupiec and enjoyed 55 years of marriage before her death in 2001. Angelo was a former resident of Detroit and most recently since 1984 of Irons, MI. He was retired from the roofing industry, member of Local #149, and a distinguished veteran of WW II having served in the Army.
Survivors include 3 daughters; Patra (Werner) Zambetis-Rychel of Munich, Germany, Michelle (Bob) Bullard of Fairfax, CA, Mary Zambetis, 2 sons; Thomas Zambetis of Tucson, AZ, Michael (Donna) Zambetis of Grand Haven, 6 grand children; Daniel and Angelo Rychel, Evan and Patra Zambetis and Katie and Nicholas Bullard. Also 2 sisters; Anastasia Gakis and Jasmine (Tony) Zammit. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother Michael Siros.
The Greek Orthodox funeral service for Angelo will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2006, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Muskegon with Rev. Fr. Catalin Mot as celebrant. Friends may meet the family 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Irons, MI.
