Twenty years ago, when we moved to our present home, among the very first, who welcomed us to the neighborhood was Anne. We developed a friendly relationship, based on mutual ethnic background and gardening interest. One day, Anne stopped by, and brought me bare root plants from her garden. That time not knowing anything about daylilies, I was surprised, what a rewarding plant they are, and fell in love with their flowering beauty. Since then I have become a collector of daylilies. Anne's vanilla yellow and orange color daylilies will always remind me of her presence in our life. Thank you Anne, you will be missed by both of us. Odpočívaj v pokoji. It was a shock to hear about Miss Hradsky as I had just talked to her at Millie's funeral.

Over the years, we both attended many of the same softball games, band concerts and city meetings. I could always count on having a great time visiting with Miss Hradsky where ever we would meet.

When we lived in California and visited Michigan during Summer vacation the person I always wanted to hang out with was my Aunt NeNe. She was my fishing buddy, and taught me how to use a stick to fling the apples that fell from the old tree in her yard. She grew peas for me in her garden because she knew they were my favorite. She would let my sister Karen and me make our own miniature golf course in her back yard and play with the old clubs in her shed.

NeNe used to spend all day baking loaves of Kolachki bread, and even when we lived in Japan we knew sooner or later a package of Kolachki would come. She'd also send us scrap paper from the printing company she worked for, and we'd draw, color on or fold it to our heart's content.

I'm going to miss sitting in the kitchen with her and just shooting the breeze, or having her point to the woods beyond her yard and tell me how it all used to be open farm fields.
