Dr. Anthony M. Lombardi's Obituary
With profound sadness and shock, we announce the death of Dr. Anthony M. Lombardi, a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend to so many. He passed away very suddenly on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 in San Francisco, CA. Anthony was born on June 2, 1987 in Grand Rapids, MI to Guy and Debora (White) Lombardi. Anthony had profound love for photography, Britney Spears, camping/hiking, and family. Even as a young man, he enjoyed cross country road trips as well as traveling abroad with family and friends. Beyond his itch to travel, Anthony had a deep love for his friends and family (a man that could never say no). He was raised and educated in West Michigan. Prior to his Postdoctoral training, Anthony received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Pacific University School of Graduate Psychology. He completed his Predoctoral Internship at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center and his Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine as part of the OCD and Related Disorders Track. Anthony was a Clinical Instructor at Stanford University of Medicine and was a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at Pacific Anxiety Group in Menlo Park, CA. He was an empathic, highly skilled, and remarkably effective Clinical Psychologist, who specialized in OCD and other anxiety disorders. Anthony was a brilliant and talented clinician, and many of his patients spontaneously reached out to sing his praises and tell how much he had changed their lives. Anthony was a generous colleague – always quick to pitch in and lend a helping hand. He was an engaging speaker – presenting at numerous OCD Awareness events – and explaining cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) to patients suffering from OCD, family members, and trainees. He will be very much missed by his colleagues, patients, family, and friends. Survivors include his parents, Guy and Debora Lombardi; his brother, Patrick (Katie) Lombardi; his maternal grandparents, Ron and Marilyn White; partner, Josh Emmons; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Cre and Theresa Lombardi; his uncle, Ernie Heikkila; his cousin, Dean Addicott; his great-grandparents Dexter & Marie King and Clark & Evelyn White. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00 PM Friday, October 30, 2020 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (2929 McCracken Street, Norton Shores, MI 49441) with close family friend, the Rev. Msgr. R. Louis Stasker, presiding. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass, 12-1 PM Friday at St. Francis. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
