Mrs. Ardis Schmidt's Obituary
Mrs. Ardis Schmidt, age 85, of Nunica passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012. She was born December 11, 1926 in Muskegon to Arthur and Ada (Tyler) Johnson.
Ardis was a baptized and confirmed member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, traveling and spending time in her garden, but most of all she loved her family.
On January 4, 1946 she married Edward Schmidt in Grand Rapids and together they enjoyed over 66 years of marriage. She is survived by her husband, Edward; 3 children: Carol (Bob) Sroka of Silver Lake, Ed (Shirley) Schmidt of Nunica, and Tom (Cherry) Schmidt of Nunica; 8 grandchildren: Michelle Miller, Andrew Schmidt, Kristi Taylor, Sara Dove, Mark Schmidt, Heidi Odett, Kathryn Schmidt, and Rebecca Schmidt; 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 1 sister, Ione (Don) Sheridan; 1 brother, Ted (Marie) Johnson. She was preceded in death by 1 grand-daughter, Lori Ann Gauthier; 2 sisters, Violet Janes and Patsy Schippers; and 1 brother Tim Johnson.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 16, 2012 at St. Luke Lutheran Church with Rev. William Lahrman officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Spring Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Ardis may be given to either the Building or Education Fund of St. Luke Lutheran Church.
