Arlene M. Bisson's Obituary
Arlene M. Bisson, age 76, passed away Monday morning, April 27, 2015. She was born November 23, 1938 in Muskegon to Arthur and Anine (Burkall) Jensen and had been a life resident. Arlene was a 1956 graduate of Muskegon High School and received her Bachelors of Art from Western Michigan University and a Masters of Art and Masters of Education from the University of Michigan. She was a teacher for Mona Shores High School for 45 years before retiring in 2003. Teaching was her calling in life, not just a profession and “Live the Joy” was the motto she always lived by. Arlene was an active long-time member of St. Jean the Baptiste Catholic Church. On February 3, 1962 she married Donald R. Bisson in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on March 13, 2004. SURVIVORS include 3 children: Paul Bisson M.D. of New York, Timothy (Elaine) Bisson of Fruitport, Chantal (David) Grey of Hesperia; 7 grandchildren: Stephen, Scott, Sean, and Casey Kinney, Jessica Metzger-Kelch, Anthony, and Adrian Bisson; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Bethany Bisson-Kinney and granddaughter, Stephanie Christian. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 10:00 AM Friday, May 1, 2015 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Matthew J. Barnum presiding. VISITATION will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday, April 30, 2015 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565 and one hour prior to the service at the church. A Scripture Service will be held 6:00 PM on Thursday. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
