Arlene L. R. Jakubas' Obituary
Mrs. Arlene Louise Ruth (Schamber) Jakubas passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the age of 92. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 8, 1929 to Daniel and Erma (Hassold) Schamber in Muskegon. She married Edward Jakubas on July 4, 1947 who preceded her in death. They were married 51 years. She was a longtime member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Arlene enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. Her house was always full after church on Sunday. She was always there to listen to anyone, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren if they needed an ear to listen. She had a passion for fishing, playing rummi cube and sewing. She is survived by her six children, Sandy (Gary) Kirk, Sharon Lutz, Judy (George) Sibley, Pat (Bruce) McCabe, Tom (Mary) Jakubas, and Tanya (Rick) Anderson; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church would be appreciated. Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, June 1 from 5-8PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Masks are recommended for those who attend. A Family Funeral Service will be held 1PM, June 2 at Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church. Burial at Mona View Cemetery.
