Dear Deb, MaryAnn, Patti, Steve & Families,
Your Mom/Grandma was a character, and I mean that in a good way! I have so many fond memories from when we were kids and our Moms/Dads were raising us there on Sheridan Road...the sleepovers b4 and after the new house was built, playing in the chicken coop, winter sledding down the many small sand dunes (her voice would carry for miles, I swear, when she'd call you home), the many meals we shared and what a wonderful cook your Mom was. Did you know she taught me to tie my shoelaces b4 I started kindergarten also? She had a lot of patience with the young ones. The entire family is in my thoughts and prayers. I am so glad that I got to know Arlene. She has been a highlight in my life for the last couple of years. I enjoyed the coffee and conversation each day in the office. She gave me many words of wisdom, much encouragement and even taught me a dirty joke or two. Although she shared many memories of each of you as well. She loved you all very much. Sallie and I never went hungry when we were at work. I must have gained a pound or two. Arlene filled a void in my life, since my grandmothers have passed away. I know that you are encountering much sadness now. Its ok to cry and hurt but soon that all will heal. Just remember Arlene's life was a wonderful celebration and now she is an angel above in her little red robe watching over us all. No longer is she in pain. I'm so sorry to hear of your Mom's death. May all the wonderful memories you share bring comfort.

We Bowmans were blessed to have Arlene in our lives...she was a wonderful friend and neighbor. I will always remember her patience when she taught me to tie my shoes so I would be ready for Kindergarten.

Grandma I Love You So Much! You will be so dearly missed. I'm am thankful that my children got to know what a wonderful grandmother I had and great grandma they had. I miss you so much!
