Arlene M. Marshall's Obituary
Arlene M. Marshall, age 77, passed away Sunday evening at the Harbor Hospice-Poppen Residence following a long illness. She was born in Ravenna, MI on March 14, 1933 to Edgar P. and Martha (Dekker) Baker and at the age of 14 moved to Muskegon. She married Mr. Ernest L. “Red” Marshall on December 31, 1950. Red preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 1987. Arlene was a school bus driver for Fruitport Public Schools for 12 years and was an active member of the VFW Post 3195 Auxiliary. Arlene enjoyed playing bingo and trips to the Little River Casino but it was her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that captured her heart. She is survived by: four children, Deborah (Melvin) Nick of Twin Lake, Mary (Thomas) Drake of Fruitport, Patricia (Ronald) Routt of Fruitport and Stephen (Kay) Marshall of Fruitport; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The funeral Service will be held at: The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 11:00 A.M., Friday, Rev. Clifford R. Lones officiating. She will be laid to rest in Fruitport Cemetery. Visitation: Thursday, 6-8 P.M. and one hour prior to the funeral. Memorial: National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
