Arnie "Joe" Kelm's Obituary
Arnie Joseph Kelm, affectionately known as “Joe”, age 69, beloved husband of Rachel (Cisneros) Kelm, passed away unexpectedly November 21, 2020 in his home. Born August 16, 1951 in Monroe, Michigan to Arnold and Mary Kelm. During his teens, while hanging out in the local diner, he met & immediately fell in love with the owner’s daughter; from that point on, they were inseparable. Joe and Rachel married July 9, 1978. Much loved father of sons Joseph (Kelly) and Joshua: daughters Rachel and Rebecca. Cherished grandfather of Tirza, Wesley “Rico”, Mackenzie and Giselle “Gigi”. Brother of David Kelm (Cindy) of Sequim, WA; Theresa Schuler (Gary) of Vadnais Heights, MN, and James Kelm (Kimberly) of Duluth, MN. Joe is survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime friends. Joe was an avid outdoorsman. Hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping with his wife and family, in the wilds of northern Michigan, were particular passions of his. In past years, he enjoyed “deer camp” with close friends. He also had a love of reading and learning. He retired from D.T.E. Energy in 2016 after over 20 years of employment. After coming to know Christ, Joe was involved in various ministries. He will be remembered by many for his contagious laugh. In honor of Joe’s final wishes, there will be no public service.
