Arthur "Amos" Huls Jr.'s Obituary
Arthur “Amos” Huls, Jr. age 87, of Ferrysburg passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at home with his family at his side. He was born February 14, 1932, in Grand Haven to Arthur and Dorothy (Brown) Huls, Sr., and he married Janette Graham on December 5, 1953.
Art was a self-employed mason contractor for many years. He loved fishing and hunting, everything from deer, pheasant, duck, if he could go after it he would. It’s how he provided for his family. In 1969 he caught (with the help of Janette) the then current state record brown trout, on 6 lb. test line. His other interests were spending time with his family at his cabin in Copemish.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Janette Huls, five daughters: Nikki Snyder, Di Szczesny, Brenda (Glenn) Gardner, Dottie (Dick) Bishop, and Teresa Noteboom; one son, Tom (Wanda) Huls; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Gordon Chittenden. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Ronny Huls, brother, Allen Huls, sister, Pat Chittenden, and son-in-law, James Snyder.
A private family service will be held to honor Art’s life. Services are entrusted to The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, Michigan 49417. Share memories with the family at their online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com
