Uncle Art was very special. I distinctly remember many happy and funny moments with him. His marriage to Aunt Pauline at Hendons' home in Muskegon. He took me on my first airplane ride in a three seat Piper Cub at the little flying field at North Manchester, IN. As I recall it was $5 and a little scary. About 1948. Then there were the many years, starting about 1950, when He and my Dad went to the Indianapolis 500. Probably 25 years of that Memorial Day event. He was outwardly always cheerful and funny. Few people are ever quite prepared for the loss of the person nearest and dearest to them. Uncle Art took that loss very, very hard. However, at the end the few he cared most about were with him as he entered into Eternal Life. The good memories of "Life with Uncle Art" will never leave me.##imported-begin##Mark Hillsamer##imported-end##
Although I only knew Art casually from my husband, Bob knew Art. We would often meet up with Art in Meijer or a restaurant and those encounters almost always entailed a lenghty chat between them. Bob ALWAYS enjoyed the "chats" because Art was interesting and "funny".
We extend our thoughts and prayers for comfort to you folks in your loss.##imported-begin##Bob and Sharon Felcoski##imported-end##

We at Sun Chemical would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Art Payne for their loss. Being co-workers and friends of his son, Brad, we are truly sadden by the passing of his father. Our thoughts and prayers are with Brad & Janet and the entire Payne family in this time of sorrow. God Bless...##imported-begin##Rich Bowen##imported-end##
I am so sorry to hear of Art's passing. I met Art many years ago through Meijer. I believe he assembled mowers for us back when he had his repair buisness. He and Pauline would always come in for coffee and some socializing. Always a naughty little smile on his face (like what had he been up to and did you really want to know?) Then at some point he became one of us, an actual Meijer employee. Art was a dear, sweet man, and will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed. I pray you will find comfort knowing that he is in the loving arms of the Lord.##imported-begin##Evie Sias##imported-end##
