Dear Bill & Sandy; Ron & Jan & families,
I was truly saddened to hear of Uncle Art's death and know I couldn't get there for the memorial service. I was in Florida with my son. Uncle Art was truly a great Uncle!!. Aunt Edie and he bought me my beanie copter when I was 5 and my nickname "Beanie" has stuck to this day. He was always there to play with us and we had so much fun with Uncle Art, even his funny jokes that he told over and over made us smile. We also had the best Halloweens with him and trick or treating in his neighborhood. He was also there for us when mom died and we knew how much he loved her and us. He can now have fun with her in eternity and I know we'll see him again. I will miss him but I have alot of good memories of him.##imported-begin##Denise (Frens) Volbeda##imported-end##
I’ll always remember Uncle Art helping out on the farm during the apple harvest season…he always carried a smile with laughter and pranks!:-)…he always enjoyed himself and had a lot of fun!...he really lived life! Genuine people like Uncle Art will always be remembered.##imported-begin##Mark Frens##imported-end##
Uncle Art was the BEST uncle a person could ask for. He taught be how to play baseball, football, basketball, and a lot about life. He was a "player" and I learned well how to play. He was a great brother to my mother and a huge support to us when she died. He was often like a third parent and a friend. What a blessing to have been part of his life. Thank you Uncle Art - You lived well! I love you and will miss you but will cherish the memories.##imported-begin##Elaine (Frens) Vanderleest##imported-end##
My deepest sympathy to Art's family on his passing. I have not seen Art or Bill for many years, but I always found Art to be a great gentleman to deal with. He was very helpful and considerate during the 11 years I was news director at WKBZ. I could always count on Art for any help he could give me in my job and also in working with the city during my time on the board of directors of the Seaway Festival in the 1970's.
God Bless & Rest In Peace.##imported-begin##Jon Graska##imported-end##
Dear Ron & Jan, Bill & Sandy, Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren: We were saddened to hear of the death of Uncle Art. He certainly did live a long life! He was always a dear, fun Uncle, and his visits to our home were never boring. He was also a dear, sweet brother to our mother. We pray for peace & comfort for your hearts as you let him go knowing we will be reunited again in eternity. We are too far away in Manila to visit and that makes us sad also. Know we are thinking of you & keeping you in our prayers. Love, Russ & Sherry##imported-begin##Russ & Sherry##imported-end##
