Arthur L. Leutscher's Obituary
Mr. Arthur J. Leutscher, age 92, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at a local nursing home. Art was born August 10, 1915 in Muskegon to Albert and Sarah (Spier) Leutscher. Arthur married the former Florence Johnson and she passed away in 1947. In 1949, He married Edith Kinsey and she passed away in 2001. Arthur was City Clerk for the City of Muskegon for 27 years prior to his retirement. Earlier on in his career, he had worked for the state of Michigan. Art was a member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church where he served as elder. He was also a past president of the YFCA Y’S Men’s Club and the Old Newsies. Arthur is survived by 2 sons, Ronald (Janice) Leutscher of North Muskegon and William (Sandra) Leutscher of Mason, MI; 4 grandchildren, Eric (Becka), Bruce (Amy), Todd and Trevor Leutscher; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, James (Ella) Leutscher of Muskegon; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Leutscher was also preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Frens and his brother, Louis. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 1 PM Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Bethany Christian Reformed Church (1105 Terrace St.) with Rev. John DeBoer officiating. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service (Noon-1PM). MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Western Michigan Christian High School or Muskegon Christian School.
