Karen and I will miss Avis dearly, and are very sorry for the grief that your family is experiencing right now. What an amazing and inspiring woman Avis was - and how rich is the legacy of love, kindness, and Christian faithfulness that she leaves behind!
Having served Child Evangelism Fellowship in some capacity or another for nearly sixty years of her life, she is truly deserving of the title 'hero of the faith'! Just like her husband, she was deeply concerned about reaching people who were spiritually lost with the "Good News" of the gospel of Jesus Christ - and was used greatly by God to bring many people into God's eternal family!
Her love for Christ and her love for people were evident in all that she did, and her shining example of joyful Christian obedience has surely set an example which all of us should aspire to follow in the days to come!
She will certainly be missed by all of us who knew her (and especially by her family), but the benefits that we received from just having known her will remain, and will continue to inspire us as we seek to imitate her Godly example. More significantly, though, we can't even begin to fathom the eternal rewards and blessings that God had already stored up for this precious saint, which she must surely be experiencing even now!
Thank you for letting us share in the joy of knowing this sweet lady. We're so honored to have been able to call her a friend - and take great comfort in knowing that her life now (in God's eternal kingdom) is far richer than it's ever been. Of course, we'll also look forward to being reunited with Avis again - as well as with many other cherished friends - when we are finally reunited with them in our eternal heavenly home.
