Mrs. Avis S. Randall's Obituary
Avis S. Randall, age 83, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, September 27, 2016. She was born November 25, 1932 in Rhode Island to Leslie and Edith Dawley. She married Rev. William Randall, June 22, 1957 in Seekonk, MA where he pastored a church. She is survived by her husband; 4 children, Warren (Debbie) Randall, Sue (Rick) DeVries, Nancy Waterman and Joyce VanAndel (fiancé, Jerry Caringi); 12 grandchildren, Warren (Karie) Randall Jr., Kristen Cooper, Amy (Rory) Gardner, Amanda (Ryan) Cadle, Kimberly DeVries, Ben (Karen) DeVries, Teah Waterman (Damein Goven), Lydia Waterman, Kevin (Julie) VanAndel, Jeff VanAndel, Stephanie VanAndel, Melissa VanAndel; and 10 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ava, Louie, Hudson, Tori, Terrell, Mya, Kora, Noah and Brayden. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Nadine Chafee of Rhode Island. She graduated from University of Rhode Island, Barrington College and Child Evangelism Fellowship Children’s Ministry Institute. She was a homemaker, pastor’s wife, director of the Child Evangelism Fellowship of Muskegon County and was active in churches served by her husband. Avis also served as a deaconess at Orchard View Congregational Church. She was grateful that her mother enabled her to have piano lessons as she was able to play for church services throughout the years. She enjoyed exercising with members of Aqua Waves at the Muskegon Family YMCA. Avis was blessed to know that God has a plan for any who will receive the Lord Jesus as Savior to be with Him forever. The Bible says that “all have sinned” but “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day.” He is now in Heaven. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believe in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Avis had believed and is with the Lord forever and would want you to also make this decision. The FUNERAL SERVICE for Avis will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Olivet Evangelical Free Church (6790 Harvey St., Spring Lake 49456) and officiated by her former pastor Rev. Craig Cramblet and her current pastor Rev. Jerry DePoy of Family Bible Church. VISITATION will be held 5-8PM Friday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210 and an hour prior to the service at church. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship of Muskegon County. BURIAL will take place at Laketon Township Cemetery. Share memories with the family at www.sytsemafh.com.
