Barbara Lee Bruce's Obituary
Barbara Lee Bruce, age 84, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at her home in Spring Lake. Barbara was born December 7, 1939 in Detroit, MI to Paul and Margaret (Quaine) LaRiviere and moved to the area a few years ago to live with her son and daughter-in-law. Prior to retirement, Barbara worked over 20 years as a banquet coordinator at the Georgian Inn in Roseville and Hillcrest Country Club in Mt. Clemens. She was a parishioner at St. Mary in Spring Lake. Barbara loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to knit, knitting over 2 dozen afghan’s for her family and friends. Survivors include 3 children, Michael (Jill) Bruce, William (Tracy) Bruce; Anne (Bart) Gianino; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Paul (Bonnie) LaRiviere, William (Rose) LaRiviere, John LaRiviere, Timothy LaRiviere; 2 sisters, Margaret Brosnan, and Mary (James) Stormshak. She was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Timothy Bruce; her parents; 2 sisters-in-law, Janet LaRiviere and Beth LaRiviere; and 2 brothers-in-law, John Brosnan and Raymond Arondoski. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 17 at Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Oak Park. Interment will follow Mass at Mount Olivet Cemetery and Mausoleum in Detroit. Arrangements handled by The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444.
