Mrs Barbara May Herder's Obituary
Mrs. Barbara May Herder, age 93, passed away early Sunday morning, February 24, 2013, surrounded by her daughters. Barbie was born September 12, 1919 to Eddie and Guyrah (Clark) Borg in Muskegon. She married Karl Petersen and he preceded her in death in 1959. Barbara later married Marvin Herder and he passed away in 1986. Barbie had worked in the Muskegon County Register of Deeds Office for 17 years prior to her retirement in 1982. Earlier on in her career, she had served as an administrative secretary at Muskegon Osteopathic Hospital. She had been an active bowler and a former city bowling league champion. Barbie is survived by her 2 daughters, Pat Crandall of Auburn Hills, MI and Kristine (Bill) Schaeffer of Muskegon; 7 grandchildren, Roy (Michelle) Herder, Stacie Crandall, Tracie Crandall, Sargent Crandall, Aimee (Tim) Swainston and Rob (Kelly) Schaeffer; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and 2 nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Kip and her sister, Winifred. In accordance with her wishes, PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICES will be held. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Mercy VNS Hospice.
