Beau was a great man community member and friend. We grew up together, roaming the hallways, streets and waters of Spring Lake.
I am shocked and deeply saddened by the news of his passing. There is never a good time and this is far too soon. Some of my greatest memories growing up were with Beau and our core group of friends. One of my fondest memories is when we would take our family boat out and Beau oftentimes would take the helm and cruise up and down the Lake Michigan shoreline while we all hung out in the back or skied or did whatever. It was obvious the fresh air the wind and speed brought him a large amount of joy. I had hoped to catch up with him on an upcoming visit, but that truly shows how we must treasure the days and take the opportunities as we have them.
We spent a summer working out on the gas stock at Barrett Boat Works and I have to admit it was more fun than it was work. The great times and memories only continued on from there. I was thrilled to see him, start his family as I was continuing on with my life and moving out of state. I was equally happy to hear how involved he had gotten with the local athletic teams, particularly the spring Lake football program. In my mind, there’s no better mentor or coach to have had. This picture was from a day trip that we took to see the Milwaukee Brewers play at Miller Park. That was such a great day.
My sincere condolences to his family. RIP Brother Beau.
