Just wanted you all to know that you're being thought of and prayed for in the death of your husband,dad and granpa. I know that he loved his family very much and that you showed your love in return by caring for him over the last several years because of his health. Please find comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering, his strength restored, and watching over all of you now. Aunt Marlene, Cousins Jill, Larry and Michael:

I have many fond memories of Uncle Ben. I am the 3rd son of Helen Melin (Mathews) one of Ben's older sisters. While my family still lived in Muskegon in the 40s and 50s, lots of fond memories of Uncle Ben and all of his brothers and sisters and especially grandma and grandpa Mathews. I remember most of all of Uncle Ben was his smile and laugh. Oh yes, he love to eat. But then all of us did in those days. My best and love to Marlene and all of Ben's love ones at this sad time. 78 is just too young to die. Ben is only 9 years older than me so when I was growing up so was he. I will always cherish the memories of all my Mathews uncles and aunts and the large gatherings to share food, stories and laughter. Rest in peace Uncle Ben and we will meet again. I hope to get to Michigan to see Marlene and all of my cousins. Love, Bob Melin (Minnesota)
