Mrs. Bernice Anne Kling's Obituary
Bernice Anne Kling, age 95, passed away on January 17, 2017. Bernice was born on December 20, 1921 to Anthony and Kathryn Bar. In 1942 she married Thaddeus Kling and together they raised 5 children and enjoyed 68 years of marriage before his death in 2010. Bernice and Ted shared a love of their Polish heritage by listening to Polka music every Saturday and Sunday morning. They also taught Polka dancing and enjoyed many Polish festivals. Bernice was a career volunteer. She was very active at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and school. She organized, with her husband, the monthly St. Francis Seniors Group for 26 years. She had a passion for playing ping pong, playing Bridge, and family Euchre games. She was a guide at the Hackley and Hume Homes. She volunteered at Mercy Hospital and many other local organizations. She was a devoted Tiger's fan and lived life to its fullest. She was an active, competitive, caring woman who loved her family above all else and who will be deeply missed. Bernice is survived by her children, Kathryn (Michael) Moore, Mary Anne (Wayne) LaNore, Thaddeus Kling Jr., Thomas (Mary Ann) Kling, and Terence (Susan) Kling; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 3 brothers; and 5 sisters. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will take place on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 11AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2929 McCracken St. with Fr. Charlie Hall as celebrant. ENTOMBMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Mausoleum. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the start of the service at the church and from 2pm-5pm Sunday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 with a prayer service and time of sharing taking place at 4:30. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church or the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
