Mr. Bert Hanis' Obituary
Mr. Bert Hanis, age 86, passed away Monday afternoon, May 13, 2013 at his home with his family by his side. He was born November 24, 1926 to George and Anna ( Fekete) Hanis in Muskegon Heights, and was a life-long resident of the Muskegon area. Bert was employed by Plumbs, and worked in the meat department for 40 years. He was a member of the Viking Lodge and Tatra Hall, and was a longtime member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. On September 18, 1954 Bert married D. Irene Larson, and she preceded him in death on October 9, 1998. SURVIVORS include 3 children, John (Kay) Hanis of Grand Haven, Janet (John) Krol of Muskegon, Gary Hanis of Norton Shores; 5 grandchildren, Rebecca and Robert Krol, Joseph (Rebecca) Cook, Jonathon Cook, Jeremy (Sara) Cook; 2 great-grandchildren, Brandi and Kristina Cook; 1 brother, Ed (Judy) Hanis of Grand Rapids; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 4 sisters. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 17, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Marian Chapel, with the Rev. Fr. Philip P. Salmonowicz presiding. Entombment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum. VISITATION at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W.
