Bettie A. Johnston's Obituary
Mrs. Bettie A. Johnston, age 79, passed away early Thursday morning, February 21, 2008 in Muskegon. She was born January 24, 1929 to Nelson and Eva (Bell) Williams in Muskegon, and was a life resident. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and the Ladies Church Circle. Mrs. Johnston had been a Girl Scout Leader, and many years ago, was in charge of the Orchard View Roller Skating Program. She also enjoyed arts and crafts. The former Bettie Williams married Robert Johnston on June 12, 1948 in Muskegon. SURVIVORS include her husband Robert of Muskegon; 2 children, Carol (Bernie) Langlois, Nan (Pat) DeMuro, both of Muskegon; 7 grandchildren, Stacy DeMuro, Matthew DeMuro, Becky (Joe) Capaldi, Kristen DeMuro, Caryn DeMuro, Kimberly Langlois, Denise (Brian) Short; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jack (Maxine) Williams, Bob (Ruth) Williams, both of Muskegon; 3 sisters, Evelyn Lynn Oachs of Muskegon, Jean (William) Riddle of Colorado Springs, CO, Marilyn (Dick) Mosler of Hudsonville. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday at St. Thomas Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Michael Olson presiding. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. (231) 726-5210 will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday, with the Rosary prayed at 6:00 PM.
