About 40 years ago, a 5 year old little girl was starting kindergarten. Mrs. Barrett was the bus driver that brought a young and excited Sally to her first day of school. Once, I remember eating a piece of chocolate cake that I had saved from my lunch, on the bus, and as you can imagine, making a big mess. Mrs. Barrett made sure I was cleaned up before I got home that day, I don't think my mom ever knew. Throughout the years, Mrs. Barrett brought my brother and I to and from school, going out of her way to bring us to our door in the winter time, rather than have us walk 1/2 mile in the cold and wind. Years after leaving the Spring Lake School district, our paths would cross at Starlite Lanes. Even after moving to Arizona 20 years ago, she continued to ask my parents about me. I've always had a special place in my heart for Betty, she will be greatly missed. My sympathies to the Barrett family. Sally (Sparks) Walsh##imported-begin##Sally (Sparks) Walsh##imported-end##
