My heart is in my throat as I write my sympathy to you all. We are in Florida til next wk, Dad in Cadillac til Sunday and we feel so bad that we cannot be there to support you.

My best memories as kids of your Mom were moments we shared at the little kitchen table eating chocolate cake, potatoes chips and Pepsi. She always listened allowed us to "share" with an adult, things we wouldn't tell another adult. She was always nonjudgmental and gave us a safe place to fall. Remember her smile and mirth!

We are so sad to hear about Betty's passing. We know this is a very hard time for all of you right now and we will be thinking of all of you. We are glad we at least got to see her up at the lake this summer. You all meant the world to her. It is nice to know that she and Leo are back together again. We will not be able to make it to the memorial but will be thinking of all of you on that day as it will be a difficult one.

Betty and Leo were very good friends with my parents (Dick and Pauline Poort) I will always remember them visiting our home and the good times we had. My thoughts and prayers will be with the family.
