Betty K. Davis' Obituary
Mrs. Betty K. Davis, age 92, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008 in Muskegon. She was born on November 10, 1915 In Cadillac, MI to Ralph and Gladys (Garver) Swanquist, and had resided in Muskegon since 1957. On May 11, 1940 she married Ralph Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Davis owned and operated, along with their family, the A & W/ Airline Rootbeer for more than 40 years. Betty had many fond memories of the restaurant and often talked about those times as the "good life". She, also, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at their cabin. Her kind and sweet ways will be forever missed by her daughter-in-law, Valerie Davis, her 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, Shelley (Rick) Cook, Rachel and Blake; Alicia Davis-Kelly and Emily; Dean (Susan) Davis, Nicholas and Zachary; 2 sisters, Judy Pettyjohn of Grayling, Mi and Shirley (Paul) Weaver of Albuquerque, NM. Her husband, Ralph, preceded her in death in 1989; and her son, Doug, in 2003. Mrs. Davis was, also, preceded in death by her 2 sisters, Phyllis Horstman, and Jean Mickelson. In accordance with Betty's wishes, Private Family Services will be held. Arrangements by The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100.
