To my family,
My grief is overwhelming when I look at what our family has lost, so at this time I choose to look at what we all have gained. I can't remember my life before my uncle Bryan. One of my earliest memories was being a flowergirl in Deanna and Bryan's wedding. He was just ALWAYS there. His silent smile said more than most others' words. He was the most selfless and giving man I will ever know. He gave his time, talents and support to anyone in need. Our entire family, Medendorp and Nelund sides are better because of him. I have gained an example of what a marriage is, and should be, Deanna and Bryan had a love and marriage that all should strive for, but few achieve. Thanks to him I have 3 of the best cousins a girl could ever ask for. They have inherited his kindness and joy for life and family. This world also has 3 amazing little men that will know of their grandfathers love, even though it might be through pictures and stories......his love was that big. We may never know why a great man was taken from this world so soon, but I know he would be mad that we are all sad. He would want the biggest celebration filled with laughter, drink and music. So I am choosing with my tears to smile for the man I was lucky enough to call my uncle Bryan!
