Carl Robert Jalovec's Obituary
Carl Robert Jalovec, age 87, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Mercy Hospital. He was born July 19, 1934 in Muskegon to Carl and Genevieve (Somers) Jalovec and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was in the U.S. Air Force from January 10, 1953 and Honorably Discharged on December 31, 1960. He was a Communication Specialist. He married Elizabeth A. “Kelly” VanderStelt on July 29, 1953 in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on January 16, 2012. Carl worked over 25 years as a sales engineer for American Coil Spring and retired in 1992. He was a longtime member of East Muskegon Christian Reformed Church where he served as an Elder and Deacon. He was currently a member of Grace Christian Reformed Church. Carl loved spending time with his family and never missed a sporting event for his sons or grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include 2 sons, Carl R. Jalovec, Jr., Mark (Julie) Jalovec; 2 grandchildren, Jordyn (Jacob) Wagenmaker, Jacob Jalovec; 1 great-granddaughter, Zoey Jane; 1 brother, Charles M. (Chris) Jalovec; 2 sisters, Shirley Ann (Tony) Brooks, Valerie Jean (Craig) Westedt; 4 special nieces, Gloria McDonald, Kathy Gardenour, Patti VanderStelt, and Karol Reardon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kelly Jalovec and his parents. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 5, 2021 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Rev. Dr. William J.
