My name is Jeff Hathaway and i am very sorry about Carl ; i went to grade school and high school with him . I am 4 mo older than he is . And he always talked about Florida when he went there fun fun! Floyd i think you know who i am but not knowing where i live .Allan is my dad if you need to call me his number is in the phone book;i think i might move to Florida in a few short years in rememberance of his fun. Once again i am very sad about this not being able to make it Saturday as i would have to be picked up in the Wolf Lake area ! Rest in Piece Carl!
As I sit and go through pictures and make a memory board I go from laughing to crying. Dad you were one of a kind and I have so many memories of our wonderful fun family. One thing you taught me was to always have fun and enjoy life. I remember some of our talks and some of our fights but all and all I wouldn't be the strong overcomer if it was not for you. No matter what others thought I know the true heart of my dad and it was a loving caring heart. No matter how tough you seemed I know it was a cover because you loved with everything you had. Give Nana J a big hug and let sissy know how much we miss her. Until we all meet again, I love you and I am at peace knowing you are with Sissy. Glad we had our talks over the past few months and I got to make you laugh on our last call 3 days before you went home.
I will never forget the fun we used to have....you had a fearless tough side to you Carl and I remember laughing at some of your insight on things...you were married to my best friend and so much has changed but I hold those memories near and dear to my heart! After your little Peggy died Life as you knew it was never the same but I will always remember the weekend getaways to Ludington on or near the date of her birthday to remember Peggy with some fun and adventure and adventurous it was because it was Feb. sometimes the cabin would have frozen pipes and we would end up at another place sight unseen and not always a good thing but we always made the best of it and had a great time! I will never forget the Eucre tournaments between you and Jim and Jerri and me and of course Michigan Rummy for pennies but on that special weekend we would play for nickles. I have one more memory that I need to share when Jerri fell in the deep snow and Jim fell on top of her triyng to help her up and you and I just stood there laughing before we realized they needed our help. Laughter ...a cure for everything!
Well I could go on and on because you really did have a part in some of the best times of my life and I know that you are laughing with Peggy Jean now and walking with Jesus.
Rest In Peace Carl

I remember Carl and he had a tender heart, though he tried to hide it. He will be missed.
