My family lived across the street from the Goudie family in Sherman Manor. I have been friends with their youngest son, John, since before I can remember. The Goudie family were wonderful neighbors and friends. I remember fondly Mrs. Goudie making cookies and I would always just happen to be over to the Goudie house when the wonderful aroma of fresh baked cookies was emanating from the windows in the summertime. I never left empty handed. I still vividly recall Mr. Goudie too. We were shooting baskets next door to the Goudie's on one occasion and the basketball went over the fence and broke a bird bath in the Goudie's backyard. Sheepishly I went and told Mr. Goudie what I had done. He was so gracious at letting me off the hook. I've never forgotten that. That's the kind of terrific people that Mr. and Mrs. Goudie were and their sons and daughters and their families are as well. They both have created a wonderful legacy that will live on thru their family. God Bless.
Love,
