Catherine A. Kelly's Obituary
Mrs. Catherine A. Kelly, age 102, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, in Muskegon. She was the former Catherine Brunette, born January 1, 1902 in Muskegon and had been a life resident of the area. Catherine had been very active in the Bluffton Neighborhood, was a contributor to the book, “Sand in My Shoes” and through her brother, Clarence, was also involved with Bluffton’s “actor’s colony”. She enjoyed gardening and knitting but most of all, enjoyed children. She was affectionately known as “grandmother” to all the children in the neighborhood. Prior to her retirement in 1961, Catherine had been Executive Secretary at Central Paper Company – S.D. Warren. SURVIVORS include her son, Phillip Kelly, Jr. of Bitely, MI; 2 grandchildren, Kari (David) Purchase of Norton Shores and Trudy (Bill) Moore of Bitely, MI; 4 great-grandchildren, Bill Moore, Jr., Stephen, Adam and Nathan Purchase. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip and brother, Clarence. PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICES were held. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery.
