Chad, Where do i Begin. We only became close friends within the last year or so, and I was so glad we did, Colleen and I are deeply saddened by your unexpected departure from us. We would like to extend our warmest sympathies to your family and friends. I would like to take this moment to tell you Kathy, that I am so grateful to have gotten to know you while being your neighbor and know that if you need anything please let us know. I know that these times are hard , but the Lord has a better plan for all of us, and he's waiting for us to come home. I know chad is in a better place now, and we will always feel his smile, charisma , love and happiness around us. We are so sorry for your loss Kathy, and Chad's parents. We were so excited to be able to share some of the excitement that he had and you both shown when he was ready to propose. That is the last thing i remember is that great smile on both your faces that day you left to head west. I will never forget that. We would like to just say we are sorry once again during this time of pain and suffering, no parents should ever have to experience this type of trauma. Chad, the love of my life. I cannot express in words how empty I feel without you. Even though you are not next to me in body, I feel your love surround me even now. I am so blessed to have shared in your life and love, if only for a short while. Here is a poem by ee cummings that I think expresses my feelings:

Chad,

Sorry it took so long to do this but it doesn't come easy to say what we are feeling. We love you so much and I say present tense because that feeling will never go away. Your sudden goodbye isn't easy, but to say that you will always be in our hearts and Alexis, Chase and Alivia all miss you deeply. I want to ask the question why sometimes yet know that God always has a purpose of wanting the “best” next to his side. I wrote this for you and know that you are never far from our hearts. As we celebrate you life, and mourn your death, your love and spirit are with us. Know that you’ll live on in Chase, he is just like you, always making friends, loving spirit and personality and always has to be in style, and the love that radiants is amazing.

Chad and Kathy's families,
It has been a week since I received the telephone call from Scott with the sad news of Chad's death. I myself, needed the time to soul search, to cry, to reminiscence, and to just talk with Scott daily about life, it's circumstances, and how solutions to events such as these, do not lend themseves to easy understanding. I recall the minister at Scott's wedding speaking of the true bond this group of guys have. He went on to explain that it went beyond grade school, high school, and college. That bond of frienship amongst them still continues today. It is a gift they continue to give one another, to remain close. They will continue to stay in your families lives. If you need anything, they will be there. God's love hopes for the best, even in the face of adversity. It hopes through disappointments, never giving up. What comfort it is to our trouble - filled hearts, eventhough we can't always understand what God is doing. Chad would want us to take what he gave us and use it to better ourselves and to help others. So today, if you have not hugged someone, please do so. If you have not given a kiss, please do so. If you have not told someone they are loved, please do so. This is what Chad would want us to do. Do this in fond remembrance of him. You are the light of Aunt Kathy's life. Your love and smile always kept me going, thank you. You loved with all your heart and never were you ashamed to show it. Your leaving us so soon will be hard to take but know Aunt Kathy will keep you forever with her. I loved you so.....

I am thankful for the time we shared and I trust God to hold you within his wings now. May his Angels be blessed with your presence. Your happiness and joy for living life to its fullness will stay in my heart.
Although I do not understand the "why" I do believe we will laugh and smile together in Heaven.

Chad I don't even know where to start. When I heard about what had happened and thought back to HS and GV days, everything that came into my mind about you involved a smile or a laugh. You were always the one that would go out of your way on campus to come over, high 5 me and ask how things were going. I always enjoyed running into you and randomly grabbing a bite to eat before a class and just BSing. This wall shows truly what a great man you were. I will miss not running into you around town and knowing that you'll have some hilarious remark when we speak. Chad, My first memories of you are next door to the Barth's house. I was just a teenager then, but here were these cute little boys. But becoming part of the family and having you as a cousin, will always stay with me. You will always be my little Luke Skywalker, the boy who ate too much and made a mess all over my living room (haha). The way you teased me, the way you made everyone smile, your Carlton dance, but most of all just being you! I feel very lucky knowing such a wonderful man. I will miss you very much!
