Mr Charles "Buck" E. Redding's Obituary
Charles “Buck” E. Redding, age 92, passed away on Friday May 1, 2015. Buck was born on June 17, 1922 to William and Rhena Redding. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve. He spent over 40 years in the Corps and loved being a Marine. He served during 3 wars and eventually retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. In 1946 he married Emma Jean “Jeanie”. She preceded him in death in 1997. He later went on to marry the former Clyta Stowers and they enjoyed over 15 years of marriage until her death in 2014. Buck also worked for Universal Camshaft, CWC and Crane Cams. He was a “regular” at Ponderosa and Golden Corral and enjoyed the friendships he had there. He attended New Hope Baptist Church in Florida and Calvary Baptist in Michigan. He was also a member of VFW Post 03282 in Florida. Buck is survived by his 2 children, Robert and Raymond (Janice) Redding; 5 step-children, Carol Bunker, Ray (Nancy) Stowers, Mike (Deb) Stowers, Dave (Beth) Stowers, and Julie (Steven) Belmarez; and many step-grandchildren and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Jeanie; second wife Clyta; son, Roger Redding; and brothers, William and James. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 AM on Monday May 11, 2015 at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions can be made to the USO.
