Charles (Charlie) Edward Jaenicke's Obituary
Charles (Charlie) Edward Jaenicke, 92, of Norton Shores, passed away September 1, 2025.
Born June 8, 1933, in Holland, MI, Charlie proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He later worked as a medic with ProMed and as a firefighter with the Norton Shores Fire Department for 36 years, while also retiring from CWC Castings. He also worked at Younkers doing maintenance following his retirement. Charlie loved the outdoors, music, and supporting the Mona Shores Choir and Band programs. Known for his curiosity and love of learning, he earned his high school diploma from Mona Shores in 1974 and inspired others with his belief that “you never stop learning.” He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Harold Jaenicke; brother, John; and wife, Judy. Surviving are his children Wendy Thompson, Mark (Jackie) Leech, Ann (Mike) Healey, Joseph (Kay) Jaenicke, and Janet (Robert) Graham; along with grandchildren Matt, Joseph, Lauren, Jared, Kari, Blake, and Kennedy.
Per his wishes, no service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Hospice.
